Excuse my ignorance, but I assume DUI isn't a felony? If so, the 1995 will probably be ignored and you will need to have a short and good explanation for the 2002 event. HOWEVER, if the company application asks about DUI, suspension, revocation of license EVER or in a long enough period to encompass both DUIs don't lie, they will be discovered. I suspect the DUI will make it harder than not having it.

Another warning, I seem to recall Canada treats DUI as a felony and makes it difficult to enter if you have one on your record. Hopefully someone will clear that up for us.

Just make sure the drinking problem is long over and you aren't still makinf excuses. OTR work is very stressful and if you drink to cope it will make your life, and the lives of others, worse than you ever imagined.

In my opinion, you are more than likely screwed. The 1995 mishap is longer than 10 yrs and would(in most cases) be overlooked.
A second offense is considered a no-go by MOST OTR carriers. (actually thier insurance writers).

Your only option for success, if any, in my opinion, would be to persue something on the line of gravel truck.

Depending on the state you live in, the laws vary from when the DUI can be reported on your MVR. Get a copy of your MVR and see if it is still showing. If it is, your chances are slim, if its not, keep it to yourself and get to work....

If the application has a question that asks if you ever had a DUI and you answer no, then you have filed an illegal application and can be terminated without notice.

Second, if the company requires Canada crossing, the DUI will be known.

There's nothing illegal about not reporting a DUI if not asked. Insurance companies are boasting record profits even in this downturn economy. They try to maximize their profits by refusing anyone who even hints of a risk to them. Don't give anyone a reason not to give you a job. Chances are, the guy who turns you down for a job has knocked a few back and drove home also. Learn from your mistakes and move on.

Your signature line doesn't scare me. In fact, just the words you speak in a country that is as free as ours just shows that you are UN-American and ignorant.

    Personal attacks are not allowed.

What is unamerican about it and ignorant?

Have you ever read the information above what you sign?

I hired drivers, I know what the law is. I give advice based on this information and not falsehoods.

You will notice I have made no attacks or bad comments about you.
