If you buy a cobra...Just get a classic..That ine you mentioned i was never fond of and i cant remember why lol..
Ant should be mounted on drivers side..Thats where you want more signal to be talkin to trucks n such...Passenger side is ment to catch trees n such....

If you want side band then go with the 955 or anytone 6666...
No side band a stryker 655(same as 955 but no side band and one or two different options and slightly more power)or a stryker 447hpc2..Smaller than a cobra but approx 60ish watts, they need losts cool air flowing over then cause of heat sink design...
Ant.....Gonna have issues and likely end up doing same idea as cascadias for mounting....They have a piss poor mount solution..

Actually with cophase you get better side to side tx/rec in a circle like pattern..You get out further from side to side and nkt front to back..
One a single ant its more egg shaped pattern so you get better range from front to back but lose on opposite side of trk that ant is mounted..
Seeing most times your gonna be talkin in front and behind, use a single top loaded and as tall as possible w/o hitting over passes n such..If you wanna go taller than 13'6" just lean it forward enough so that at highway speed its straight up....

Ok. You may want to talk to the firestick company then. They claim the opposite. The thing you have to remember about a cophased antenna system on a big truck, is that the RF lobes to the front and the rear of the truck, are larger than one's off to the side of the truck.

You do know that all of it is an assumption, no one has actually setup a proper test for dual antennas.

Assumption or not I have no idea. I've always just heard over the years this is a type of pattern that these antennas have. Even in a book that Lou Franklin has, he shows a similar pattern with cophase antennas where the RF field is greater to the front, and behind the vehicle.
Now granted in the picture he's showing, this pattern is with the antennas mounted in the middle of the vehicle.

Sorry, the picture up above needs to be rotated, and I'm still trying to get used to this new phone. But I think at least gives everyone the general idea.

Nightstalker..Did some looking and your correct..I had it backwards...A single produces a circle type pattern and duel a more egg shaped..My bad..

But on the down side the right side ant creates more possible loss in damage and it is more work to keep two ant set up correctly vs one..
cpl other things while im at it..just an fyi to ya all..

Well you both are right and wrong, see no matter what the present wisdom, there is a reason why it needs to be tested.
