I did that first day I had the truck and it's still to tight. I have my seat all the way against the cabinet in the sleeper and still not enough room.

Why do I like the Volvo?
Because it's queite and rides like a car...
Stress is having to drive 10-15 hours a day in a loud noisy rig...
Ok...and a Volvo is quiet and soft...50% of your stress is gone...am I making any sense right now??The Challenger Thanks this. -
Looking at the market share numbers since 2007 Volvo has been gradually losing its edge as the other truck makers learn how to make a comfortable truck. Comfort is what made Volvos desirable. Frieghtliner is eating at their market share from one end while KW and Pete are eating from the other.

To the International tech. who doesn't care for the German engineering on Volvos.
Volvo is a Swedish company. -
i really think the international prostar will change that. i hate our older cornbinders. but im very happy with the ride and comfort of the prostar.

I have had a 2000 with over 800K miles and a 2001 with 750K miles and not a spec of rust anywhere to be found.... and Chicago has massive salt. I take great care of my equipment though.
I love the Volvos because they ride like a dream, are dead quiet inside and turn great. My new International Prostar is the only truck I have been in that is a quiet as my older Volvos. -
RUST??? Never seen rust on a Volvo...How about: Steel cab...HEAVY! Volvos are pretty heavy trucks. My W900L is no lightweight but spec for spec Volvos are heavier.
You can't seriously believe that...Can you?
I'm no fan of Volvos but if you think that a thin steel cab will protect in an accident more than an thin aluminun cab will...
Volvos are cheap, throw away fleet trucks as are Freightliners.(Century,Columbia, Cascadia) They are designed to be inexpensive to build and to last long enough to live to the end of their lifespan in a fleet environment. After that, they're OK container haulers but they're not too great for much of anything else.
KW T2000's and their Peterbilt alter ego trucks are better but not by much.
They're fairly nice when they're new but they generally don't stay that way for long and they're resale value is terrible. -
Volvo trucks are built better than any truck I know of. Watch volvos safety video and compare it to any other make and model. There have been accidents where people would have been take out in body bags in other models. On youtube look for Volvo Trucks- North America the Value of Safety.

I would say safety is avoiding an accident. Other than making sure you stay in your seat once you're in an accident the angels have much more say in whether you walk away than the brand of truck you're in. No cab is going to protect a driver from the 65000+ lbs of cargo behind him.
outerspacehillbilly Thanks this.
