PMTG does NOT require hazmat unless they have changed the rules in the last 30 days or so. That is why I posted the ?? about it.

Yes..sorry about that Luvmyhubby..mixed you up..how is your hubby running..staying busy?
I'm due at training on 14th of September..I've had alot of offers..but going with PMTG.
Thanks. -
I would have to say even with the economic problems he has been doing pretty well, last winter there were some longer than usual home times but nothing we didnt enjoy to say the least.
Going on 6 years now and I would still give them 4.75 out of 5 stars
; since we all know there is no perfect company in the real world anyways

Great to hear..I'm looking foward to getting started..I'll be regional in the Northeast..so hopefully I'll be busy..once I get up to speed..haven't hauled cars before..seems like everything else though.
Enjoy your weekend! -
Didn't know we were still hiring inexperienced car haulers. I just celebrated my third anniversary with PMTG. This year has been the worst of the 3. I will be down at least $20,000 this year compared to the last 2. I'm hoping things get better. Management has been getting real picky with alot of things due to the fact that the company isn't making the money they once did. (As far as they tell us.) Well good luck and welcome aboard.

You don't need hazmat or doubles endorsements here. Just a class A and a pulse. Looking at some of the newer hires, pulse is optional. I haven't met your hubby yet, so I can't include him in the lack of pulse area. Good luck to him. I hope he can do well.

Hi Going long.Sorry, I was in a rush when I replied.I thought they had required hazmat. No matter, since you are already hired!lol. As far as the training....It is 1 week Mi, 1 week ohio. They put you up in a Holiday inn express.First day is physical exam to get that out of the way ,rest of first week is classroom training, ie, tests, etc, then uniforms, insurance set-up...all that stuff.Second week is training on the trucks they use regionally. My husband actually did not train on the type of truck he is using to haul which kind of p*ssed him off. When he was there it was 95 to 100 degrees.Constantly loading and reloading over and over and over.Hotel is nice, people at Okemos are nice.He took a bus out of newark to get there at like 10:30 on a Sat night.Really not a great experience.Bad area.Bus was over-booked and he almost didn't get a seat.Lots of stop-offs.Once he was there things were better.Got a rented vehicle for drive back.He had to basically be semi-trained again first week of "real" work because of training on all truck except kind he uses. They are picky, like rainman said.Everything has to be done perfectly. They do haul really expensive cars.Work is moderate right now for him, not super busy. The 2 guys he trained with in MI already quit and I think 2 other guys out of JC just quit. It's not an easy job.He said the people are all nice, though.
Rainman. My husband's name is Greg. He's a friendly guy.Been in trucking forever. You sound like you really hussle with work .He's like that too.He owned his own truck for past 10 years .Very long hours, hard work /over the road a lot & then half the time he repaired his own truck.I read a lot of your posts before he went for training.Does sound like it's slowed. They seem to be trying to hire a lot of people.Of course, seems like a lot quit too! Hopefully they know what they're doing.I ran the business side of my husbands o/o company. With subcontractors, they lose nothing when over-hiring.It's comforting that companies have to put out a lot of money to train and insure new hires.Like I said, hopefully that means they foresee an upturn in market for luxury cars.
Good luck Going long & thanks for best wishes for the new hires, Rainman!
ConnieGoing Long and rainman1971 Thank this. -
Thanks for the in depth info Tuckr4life..guess I'll see soon enough..not worried about the hard work..been running flatbed for the last 3 years..other than some container work..always a joy.
Enjoy your day.

Being new and dumb, local car hauling never entered my mind.
