Hey there I am actually looking to reactivate my dads MC number that is about 8 years old. I also know that many brokers require you to be in the business for 3-12 months depending on the broker. So will reactivating the MC number affect this?

I want to apply for a MC number and let it sit for one year. Can I apply for one without trucks or insurance?

Why?

Mc will not be active until you have insurance. I’m not sure how you would get insurance without a truck.
clausland and Brettj3876 Thank this. -
If a customer looks up your number just to see when it was created and if it is active
Reactivating an older MC might give you a slim advantage over a brand new number.
Also reactivating might save you a few hundred bucks versus starting new.
Ask your insurance agent. It might save a little on the insurance premiums. -
How much will general liability insurance cost? -

If the old mc was voluntarily deactivated the. I would use it. Some look at the dates but some just hear an older number and feel more comfortable.
Besides, I’d guess there is some pride involved in using your Dads old number. Would be for me.Bfr38 and Rideandrepair Thank this.
