I have a Garmin 750. It's awesome! The thing with a regular GPS is you just have to realize and know it's only gonna be 90-95% reliable. I still call ahead for directions, parking info, and do proper trip planning with Atlas and QC directions. For low bridges and truck restricted routes you need to pay attention/drive as these are all clearly marked with signs. My GPS will recalculate automatically if I stay on a truck route when it requested I turn. You'll learn when to ignore the GPS and just drive where you must.
I'll call the consignee right away sometimes or wait until the day before I deliver it just depends on the circumstances and their hours of operation.

I have a Garmin 780 in the truck, 90% of the time it's right. Since I know where 90% of my customers are anyhow, I use it more to give my dispatcher a rough time on when I'll arrive.

I am sold on GPS(Garmin), it's an aid and the final authority but it has increased my driving productivity by a large degree. I have a handheld gps which shows weigh stations and exits on the interstates also. It won't route me but it darned sure assists me in getting a heads up or finallizing my log entries when I need nearest town.

I'm pretty sure I will buy the cheapo garmin, then upgrade down the line.
Thanx for the feedback.
