it is just the year of the truck.
-
Also, the term used to be exclusive for Peterbilt trucks because "Class" is how they are advertised.
-
I disagree, and to throw down the gauntlet, I provide this example: My Mack has "Class of 1952" on the hood!

We shall now see if anger can be stirred up over frivolity!
It does indicate the year of the truck's manufacture; I suspect the Pete guys are fond of it because who else is going to shell out for pin-striping? I don't see anyone bothering to celebrate the manufacturing of a plastic Freightliner or Volvo. -
Your comment is pretty much worthless with out pictures! POST EM UP!!!

is that on an 'A' model, or an 'H-61?
-
Nope, an LTLSW. -
"Class of {pick your year}" was the way Peterbilt marketing advertised their trucks way back in the day. The class part meaning high class, or classy, the best, etc etc. Somewhere along the way some O/O's started putting it on their trucks and then everyone started using it. I've got nothing against Macks, I drove them for almost 10 years. They are tough trucks and get the job done, but "classy", no way.

I dont care what they a w900 has way more class than any peterbeater running down the road id rather push my w900 than drive a junky petercrapper.
