Hmmm..Nana..I am wondering if that is NOT YOUR company wanting you to wait??

Have had many drops at Wallie and most were dropped early:yes2557:

I don't play that late crap...
If they don't want the load...I tell them I'll take down to 45th and Colfax...

I really said that once...and they suddenly had many doors open...

You guys really need to "charm" the receiving ladies. Your mistake is going on the offensive for no reason. You gotta understand, you got no power at the window, so use plan "B".

Looking back at my own comments I'm stunned at the difference now that we're dedicated to WM. We go in the fast lane, drop, hook and away we go. Even the one time we had to do a live load they dropped everything and came a'runnin'.

Life is quite different at the WM DCs when you go in the WM lane.

Dispatchers who lie more that recruiters by saying "Hot load, get it there early, they'll take you and when you arrive at a locked gate to wait for opening what is it to them.

I've been so tempted when receivers ran me out of hours to park my truck across their gate, climb into the sleeper and set my alarm for a 10 hour nap

we do a lot of walmart dc loads, Loveland, Co, N. Platte, Ne, and Cheyenne, Wyo. We make it a point to get to the guard shack at least 30 minutes before our appt. time for live unloads, especially at Loveland. N. Platte isn't so bad, usually get there about 30 minutes early, and still manage to make it to the dock and check in window with time to spare.

My rule at every wal mart dc, be at the gate 1 hour early, and many I have found that 2 hours early works too. I am always nice to the guard at the gate, and if he(she) says I am early, I just ask them to see if my door assignment is open, and if not I will turn around and see them in an hour. I have only had 2 dc's turn me out, Terrel TX, and one in AL. Anyone who delivers to wal mart knows it is the check in time at the window that counts. And the slowest clerk, Los Lunas, NM.

Thats why no one should haul WalMart loads or shop at Walmart stores. I dont and SOMEHOW I have managed to live life WITHOUT walmart.

OP's situation is one reason why qualcomm can be a GODSEND. When I'd roll into a wal-mart dc (no matter if I was 60 or 15 mins early) I'd send in a message saying "Just rolled onto Wal-mart's property". That way, I might not always get detention pay, but I wouldn't be counted as late by Marten.

We all know that the larger the corporation, the larger a butthole they are, no matter what you're there for. Walmart? I think they could crap the planet and not notice. :biggrin_25523:
