Thank you for the information.
I was hoping to get a response from you before I made my decision. I do understand that there is a learning curve with anything new. I don't want to put you on the spot seeing how this is a public forum, but could you elaborate a little more on the "stupid polices"? I am just trying to get as much information as possible. BTW, how do you like the auto transmission?
i got lucky training at trans -am. it was excellent

The latest one they've just started is having to get a PO# before you can scale a load. All thats doing is just adding another layer of bueracracy and wasting my time. I have to send in the ticket anyway with all info so why the PO#
Auto is alright but I spent some good money learning how to use a stick. Its great in hvy traffic. The one thing that drives me up a wall about it tho, is that you have to make a very positive stop in neutral when shifting between reverse and drive. If you don't, it will just beep at you till you do.
The biggest thing you'll need to remember about any of these starter companies, and especially in this economy, your a dime a dozen and can be replaced very easily. Learn to deal with stupidity and keep your cool. -
The way things are going now, it sounds like a starter company will need to last a person atleast 2 years. I owned a underground construction business for the last 5 years and they came in and cut the prices by 35%, I closed the doors and parked all my equipment I will let it rot before I go in the hole doing my job and decided to go otr. I drove an old roll off back in the early ninetys and that was a 13 speed and I scaled out over 85,000 consistently and needed those extra gears to slow down without burning up the brakes so I was just curious how those big automatics were working out. Thanks again for the information. I am definately considering TA and I am sure I will have many more questions.

Don't know many of the trainers myself since thats not my bag. Think I would make a very good one since if a mistake can be made, I've done it. My problem is, a T600 or T660 is just way to small for 2 people. My trainer and I were about ready to kill each other by the time we finished.
Also not sure if you can request a trainer by name. Think its pretty much the luck of the draw. As far as I can tell, the only thing you can ask for is a smoker or non smoker.
I'll PM you the name of a guy I know, who is a friend, and that I know has taught 10 or 11 students by now. He has over a year of experience, is an older dude, and pretty laid back. He has no problems with flunking you tho if he thinks your a danger. We need more of them like that.
I'll also PM you my name and number if you need any help, if you so desire.
You'll like the motel in Rockwall. They have a contract with the Holiday Inn Express. New place, nice rooms, all the amenities. Well except no bathing beauties just lieing around the swimming pool. boo hoo -
I am not anywhere near perfect and I will gladly accept any advice and help that is offered. I am sure that I will make many mistakes that I can chalk up to a learning experience (especially that first year). I just hope to keep them to a minimum and make this an enjoyable and profitable experience.
I don't want this to sound harsh, I was in a class of 5 for a month and there are 2 of them that should have never got their Class A. The one couldn't even pass the PTI (without alot of help), and neither one could pass the drivers exam on the main course. They both retested on the alternate course and it was so much easier. The one guy was a know it all, and the other was so afraid that he couldn't relax in the drivers seat. He scared the hell out of all of us! -
I am trying hard to get in with Trans-Am. I am hoping that this is not the wong decision. I have also recently completed class for my CDL and also recently received my CDL A license. But I guess I have to take everything into perpective from what I read from the posts. I will let you all know how my experience develops with Trans-Am as I continue with this venture. Thanks for the information on these posts. I'll let you all know once I do!

Flash, wish you good luck and welcome to the insane asylum. Things here seem to run in cycles and I'm in a down one at the moment. Oh well, this to shall pass.
