I live in Boise, I will be getting my cdl soon. I am somewhat limited in co's I can go with, Swift, Gordon, W/S, May and a few others. I have read alot about Prime and wondering if they hire out of my area. Also any feed back on an of the above mentioned co's to go with I would appreiciate it. Swift is one that I am not going with, but the rest seem to be what I have to go with-thanks

Oh yeah, I will be going w/ Sage Trucking School, they seem to be one of the best in my area.

Liteguy let me ask you this. I'm looking to get into a school as well and will be moving my family from Arizona up to Boise. How is it up there? I here its the best place to raise a family, and well, if you've ever been here in Arizona then you understand the move. Whats the jobs like up there for drivers from what you've seen?

You might also consider WSE Willis Shaw Express in Boise, see if they would work for you.

Call Prime and ask them. Prime does have a place in Salt Lake City.

Boise is great! Job market is horrible, like everywhere. Great seasons, schools, people. I moved here from Cali 3 years ago and wish I did it 10 years ago. Boise has a great small town feel but is big enough to have everything a big city has, less the mess of a big city.
There are a number of trucking Co's here, Swift, W/S, May,Gordon and a few smaller ones. I think it's in a good location for a driver.Sage Truck Driving School is who I'm goig with, very professional, one on one training and most all Co's I've talked to have great things to say about them.
Good luck with your move and I keep you posted on my progress.

The only thing with Prime is they try to push you to lease a truck from them. There are numerous threads about why you should not lease a truck from a company, be a good idea to search for them and read up.

Thanks liteguy I will. Waiting on the call back on Tuesday, if all goes well I'll be out there in two months. I need time to quit my current job and pack.

I've found from my personal experiences that going with a small, family owned carrier is a much better experience than teaming up with a large corporate carrier. You'll get a better human experience dealing with a small carrier. Living in a city such as Boise there should be plenty of small common carriers as well as specialized CDL A driving jobs available.
