This is going to affect their third party sellers, who sell their products through Amazon. Those folks will have to use traditional providers like UPS,Fed Ex or the USPS. Amazon will continue to use the vans to deliver shipments directly to consumers.

but, at the local Amazon/Prime warehouse near me, literally 5 minutes from my house, there are also private contractors to bolster the deliveries. so it's not just prime Sprinter vans, but also white sprinters with the independent contracting company names on them.

this just now adds to the unemployment hitting us with this virus.

now too, instead of getting my orders 7 days a week, i gotta depend on FedWreck to maybe get here by 9 PM..???

as it is now, FedWreck and UPS, and USPS, are over-burdened with online sales, Prime filled a much needed service, to at least handle thier own freight.

this too, may also affect any trailer work, either Amazon company drivers, or trucking companies, especially if FedWreck and UPS take over that end of it as well..

so any of you that are a private carrier for Amazon, get ready to post "for sale signs" on your equipment as well....

They could have just hired the drivers at 10 bucks an hour.
Gave them 40 hours a week, got all their packages delivered, and everybody would have been happy.
Instead of making 8 billion this year, they would
    Have only made 7 1/5.

But nooo, lets 1099 everybody and keep from
Paying taxes and unemployment and all the rest.

I don't know about the rest of you,but I've literally
    Boycotted these mega companies.
    Walmart,google,amazon.
I'll spend a few dollars more someplace else.

They got way too much control and power.
They want to dictate our lives.
I know one person doesn't mean #### to them.
But it's the only thing I can do.

Wife works for Amazon. They shut down the tshirt printing facility she works at and gave her two weeks paid time off while they figured things out. Offered to move her to thier DC with a two dollar raise if she wanted to keep working and they are offering as much OT as you want.

Yep, either they’re desperate or pays down. I have a DC 5 miles from home. Wondering if power only short trips are available. Wondering how it works/ pays.
