Can any one post about a trailer that they have owned or used that puts a positive spin on one brand or another?
I will start. I bought a used Moritz 22+5 gooseneck with 2 7000 pound Torflex axles rated for 14,500 pounds. It was a good trailer except for the dexter axles. Replaced both axles 1 time each. I had problems keeping bearing on the trailer. I would still be using it except I was rear-ended twice and the frame got damaged. I put approximately 400,000 miles on her.
I replaced her with a Big Tex piece of junk. That is why I am looking for a new trailer.
Due to an accidental fall I am unable to flip ramps so I am looking for a good hydraulic dovetail.
Does anyone have the PJ Power Tail?

I was looking at Load Trail trailers but the dealer was out of what I wanted but they had the same model built by a Texas company called "Traxx" and honestly it was better looking than the Load Trail build wise. Aside from me buying the wrong trailer (36ft low boy) I actually love the trailer it's self. It pulls awesome and overall as I mention it's a better quality build than the same style from Load Trail. My only complaints about the trailer quality wise, is the front box gets water in it. Also the ramps it came with are not very heavy duty. I bent them loading a mini excavator..I straightened them back but I'll be adding some reinforcement to them in the future for now I just place wood 4x4's under them to better support them.
As for me buying the wrong trailer.. my mistake was trying to get a jack of all trades but a expert at none.. I bought a low boy car hauler that is 101" with rub rails & wood deck.. Holds 2 cars or freight. My mistake was the fact that I lose a lot of freight room due to the trailer fenders and it has a dove tail to boot. It's awesome for loading cars though but sadly it's hard to make money with just 2 cars.. It does work great though for partial loads that I can use a car as filler..
I should have just bought a 40ft with the mega ramps and just used aluminum ramps to load low cars. live and learn..
This will give you a idea on what I mean by loosing freight space.. I'd have no issues buying another trailer from them though as my mistake on the type I bought was my mistake not theirs. I dunno if they make hydraulic dovetail though.

I agree with you about that trailer not being good for freight. I gave up on cars long ago. CD cost to much for the few poor paying cars they listed.

The only place I can think of that I was very annoyed by the ride in my current truck, I think it was Louisiana on one of their concrete highways where you get that constant bounce between sections of the road. That and some of the state roads in Texas are pretty horrible but that's due to them never fixing the roads...
Biggest issue I have is due to 20" wheels the tires are kinda narrow to get the proper weight rating so I get that drifting issue on worn out roads that have the worn in trails from heavy semis, I hear the 19.5 wheels get that as well on the 450-550 trucks.Last edited: Apr 10, 2020
