And what exactly is the point of unnecessarily moving a lever that many times when a computer can do it for you?

Because the computer can’t see and feel things that you can. Autos are nice for city driving and on flat ground in good weather. Other than those conditions, give me my manual transmission. Oh, and if I’m pulling a loaded tank, manual only!!!!

Shifting is like breathing . Merging onto freeway u turning wheel, turning blinker on and off and shifting all at same time. Sometimes a cookie or snack in my shifting hand as well.

The exercise keeps a driver from getting fat and lazy lol
But honestly If you are scared of driving a big truck and are you only capable of a computer doing the shifting for you this job probably isn’t for you.
Maybe you should get a job driving a pickup truck or maybe a pizza delivery job where the vehicles use computers to shift them?

Get a job that has the transmission you want. Presumably you have no restrictions on your licence, so if the day comes you want to or need to drive a manual, tackle it then.

If it makes getting back into the seat easier for you, drive an auto.

I can't believe all the whining about auto versus standard. Geesh! One so bad. He claims auto job is directly affected by coronavirus. That's pretty nutty.

You should know. That darn ELD. Also as if it more than replaces the shifter. Always fooling with that thing. If you don't. It will put you on On Duty Driving when you fart.
