When everybody realizes sitting at home wetting your pants and crying for mommy does nothing against a virus.

I think you're right. We just had a bid route open up that was paying $25.10 hr + H&W. Now it's posted as $23.18 +

Unless the accident was DOT recordable, I wouldn't put it on an application. If your wanting that kind of money in the U.S. get ready for the micromanagement that comes with it. Not all but most companies that pay more than the average trucking company are looking for loyal subjects to follow there every demand. And say nothing to the B/S policies that they come up with.

You can also look into Government contractors in Iraq or Afghanistan if your not scared to go there. The uplifts in pay arent there as they were when I went to Iraq. But it may be different . Afghanistan as they still get incoming from time to time.

Some of these companies may be near you. Go to there website and apply. But 95% of companies have halted hiring right now.

    Hazmat Environmental Group
(They have driver facing cameras, not sure if it's all trucks though)

    Air Products
( These ppl are super picky about who they hire.)

    Linde/Praxair
    (They have driver facing cameras)

    Walmart Transportation
(I talked to my former coworker yesterday, and he said the only reason he hasn't left was because he cant find a place paying the same as he makes now. But it's so much B/S that he hates WMT now)

Line haul driver at a LTL company
(Old Dominion, fed ex freight, saia, and a few others pay line haul drivers good. Some have cameras and are very strict. But none of them ate hiring now)

    Government contractors
( KBR, fluor, caci, ITT systems are a few that are in Iraq & Afghanistan)

There are several more but for the most part apply to private carriers.

I think most Companies are not hiring because of training. I would not ride with anyone right now or any time in the near future. I think if you have experience in an area of trucking, and years driving under your belt. The job in the same area would be easy to get. I have 7 years as a chemical tanker. I don't really need riding along with a trainer. I can do one day training in site and be on my on.

I thought the same thing. My company guarantees $1300/wk but 1600 plus fully paid benefits? Wow. Especially, not even 5 yrs experience.

If he can find it, good for him though.

That’s nuts for a small company especially. No reason you can’t be rolling 1 week after the interview. A lot of companies are slow rolling new hires right now. My company needs 2 drivers but honestly hadn’t been getting many calls. Most people still have their job and are staying put. I had one guy leave me and go to another local company, now after a month has gone by he called wanting to come back. He already. It too his bridge by leaving with no notice.

We have 5 trucks sitting right now, but they're all 379 Pete's, so now my co is calling them back up trucks. I actually forgot to ask the recruiting guy/youngest owner if they're even hiring right now.
