Another thing is all these megas are trying to use this situation to kill off as many small Co's as possible. They and the ATA are trying to get driver training exempted and are trying to put as many knuckleheads in a truck as fast as possible. Truly a ####ty tactic.

 

I give you a headache, don't I? Lol

 

Old isn't great for big Co's because they can't use them as tax write-off every few yrs. They also don't want the downtime of repairing older trucks as they ALL have lots of miles on them now.

Management of these megas doesn't care that older is more simple and reliable and easier to work on by the driver.

They want "hold the steering wheel and go down the road" drivers that don't question anything. Most of these "drivers" have never had anything as nice as the truck they're put in, so to them they're the best thing ever.

Hence the 'dumbing down' of our new fellow drivers and the continual growth of issues we experience everyday.
