I’ll bet the OP he/she will not be here on TTR in one year. I’ll bet another $100 that he/she won’t have 4 trucks with drivers in them running.

All of the above. Or they bought a new truck, new Harley, the ol lady a car or camper. Just got overextended while it appeared they were making a ton of money. Then the engine craps out and they don’t have 25k to fix it.

Many many companies factor their freight invoices as well. That in itself means they run out of money Pretty much immediately unless their wheels are turning. While a guy that has accounts receivable for the next 45 to 60 days can lean on that for a while if he needs and still eat and pay bills.

Maybe this question would make a good standalone thread, but I’m wondering what virus rescue program the feds are gonna apply for OO truckers. I have detected that hedge funds might be more likely to get floated than y’all. But thanks for being essential.

Yeah all the nice pat on the backs only go so far . With the majority of Freight controlled by huge brokerages they are slapping us around right now with 1.00 freight. A single o/o has very little leverage , I dont need a bailout but a fair fight would be nice .

No one is entitled to a bailout in capitalism.. Theyre entitled to a bankruptcy liquidation and starting over from the bottom rung.

When we're accepting that the dot gov allocates one persons earnings to save another person from their folly, we have welcomed socialism and have it. Theres no going back. You'll lament that "stimulus" check one day.

    The answer to number 2.
If you lease to a percentage carrier using their trailer you would need to book freight at 3.09 a mile to get your $2.00, figure 10 % or more longer mileage than quoted, plus deadhead, $2 for every mile 3000 miles a week ain’t gonna happen.
    That’s $9200 gross a week or $480,000 a year.

Just want to tell you all about this thing with Bezos, Branson, Powers, Ellison, Gates and the rest ...

while they are good examples of people who had a vision and made those visions true, they did one thing that many owners in this industry never do and will never do ...

That is THEY HIRED THE RIGHT PEOPLE FOR ADVICE AND GUIDANCE.
Without their lawyers, accountants and marketing advisors, they would never have gotten their businesses off the ground.

Ellison said back in 1996, that it isn't his education that really counted, it was those who he hired that counted. And more so true in this business than his.

I don't think most people know that amazon started as an online book store. it wasn't until after several years of success did he expand to other merchandise
