I have a mechanical M11 - L10 mechanical hybrid. Get about 6.5 MPG loaded 50,000 gross one way. That is baby footing it. It can turn the sky black and pass slow cars on demand. Even the 11L can be really weak on the low end.![]()

Deere hunter and 650cat425 Thank this.

My low end maybe somewhat related to the transmission. Then the mechanical linkage is very touchy. It is an industrial engine, they can smoke.
Making swaps like that usually cost more than buying the truck you want. If you already have a doner truck that would be different. Since you are mechanical a Cat should be about as easy as an N14 with a doner.
If you just buy an engine and start buying what you need it will hundred dollar you to the poor house.spsauerland Thanks this. -
Has an h2c part number 3801546 turbo on it now

Maybe keep the stock turbo on if it has a wastegate, add the N14 turbo as the atmospheric turbo.
Should give a nice wide power band.
Just an idea. I like experimenting if I have the parts. Never seen anything done with a L10 though.
I am in the process of experimenting with 2 turbos for my 5.9 cummins. Just collecting the parts. -
Other thing I cant seem to locate is a belt tensioner bolt. The threads appear to be metric. 1.50 thread pitch. 87 lt10 I broke the mofo trying to get a annoying belt squeal to go away. Brand new belt by the way with less than 100 miles on it. The pulley for an 855 or n14 seem to be too large meaning the adjustment screw/bolt won't go thru the hole in the lower part of the slide bracket. And the n14 pulley seems to be shorter I got one thinking f it they look to be the same and boy was I wrong.
