West Coast frequencies use question

    This is a question I've wondered for a while, but it's really only came to the forefront in the past few years.

    We all know 19 is Main Street almost everywhere.
    Most of us know to use 17 on i5 while on the west coast.
    There are some carriers, and pockets of use of 15, but it's fairly minimal.

    My question is...
    On routes parallel to the 5, such as 99, 97, 395, etc.. what freq is the NORM?

    Also..
    On feeder routes that spur off the 5, like 58 in Eugene over to 97(east/west).. do those stay 17 because of the link to the 5, or does it go back to 19?

    Nobody talks anymore.
    Mine is always on.. ALWAYS.
    But, if I'm monitoring 17 and should be on 19, or vice versa, it may as well be off.

    I'll speak on both and give reports.. listen on both and hear nothing. (My equipment is fine).

    It wasn't an issue years ago when everyone was jabberjawwing... but now I wish I knew that answer.

    I don't know the answer to your question. But this is where the Cobra 29 LX, and the Cobra 25 LX radio, with the frequency scan feature would be very handy to have.
    I have the Cobra 25 LX in my pickup, and I didn't think I'd care for the scan feature. But after a while it definitely grew on me. It is a nice feature to have when needed.

    19 and 17 for drivers on AM and 38 LSB for those that monitor SSB. But it's very quiet most of the time, only time people key up is when there is a hazard or back up.

    As night stalker mentioned having a radio with scan is nice if you want to hear whenever someone around you keys up but most of the time will just be locals in that area.

    If you want to listen to DX when skip is running, channel 6, 11, 17, 19, 28 and 38LSB are all good bets.

    In LA County we run 30 a lot just a bunch of local truckers. We also use 4, 21, and 11 if a different broker is handling the job.

    You mean now skip is a MF, OP start a group pick a frequency and freeband it. If you build it they will come.

    I was dropping a load of sand at the new Raider Stadium in Vegas, this guy was in Ohio and was as if he was in a truck next to me. He remained that way till I got into the Hesperia area. ‍♂️
