So I have a '93 9600 series single axle COE. It has a mechanical 310hp L10, eaton 9, 3.93... I'm doing an oil analysis and should have the results done either tomorrow or the next day and let you guys know what they find. It has about 290k miles on the original engine. I haul LTL and am registered at 54,999 and when going up hill with a 10k lbs load or more, it's kind of a struggle. Let's say for now, the engine is in good shape overall. Is there any way I can upgrade my turbo or anything else to gain a little more power? I have an H2e turbo. Would an HX55 be a compatible upgrade? Any supporting mods if I go this route? I'm kind of a dummy when it comes to tuning mechanical engines. My experience is with the newer stuff:biggrin_2552:

I'm not looking for an insane amount of power and reliability/fuel efficiency trumps all. What should I be looking at? You can't say sell it, haha... This truck has been awesome so far.

    Thanks

Same fine tuning and mods that works with 855/N14.

There is some L10 marine/industrial turbo that was pushed up to 900 hp if I remember right. Don't know model or part numbers, it was tried in some racing engine many years ago. HX55 should be good for at least 600-650 hp.

Without fuel turbo makes nothing so turn out the screw, change button, change bigger injectors and so on, basic stuff.

No, don't sell it, it's one of the best engines Cummins made. Sluggish in stock setting but when modified right it will beat it's big brother 855 easily.

Turn out what screw? I don't see any screws on the pump on my l10 besides the fuel shutoff screw
