They all build some nice ones anymore. But that 04 I think I bought it in 06 with 1800 miles was a fine bike. Rode night and day into the mid 30's. 40 miles each way on night shift back then. But aftermarket support had alot to wish for. I really wanted that Furry in 08ish. But quality on the Harley to me is much better than the metric bikes. I know not everyone thinks that. I have had both and work on mine. Downside, my oil cooled Harley will melt your right leg at a stop light in the summer. Shorts are a no go, and leather boots are a must. Still hot as heck. But it not stock. -
I wouldnt look down on a 1200 sporty. They are very capable of being very fast light weight bike. I understand that they get know for being cheaper, but that's not what they were designed for. They can be quit the fast little sheet.
If your worried about learning, get a mid 80-90's 500-750cc metric bike cheap. Plenty power to get killed. Cheap enough to trash and not care.1951 ford, cke, PoleCrusher and 6 others Thank this. -
Here's one for a laugh. Bout 12-13 years ago few buds and me go out on opening trout day. None of us hooked one or even got a bite and this fanny pack, loafer wearing neck beard comes and gives us trophies. What? Hour later it was .22 target practice time.
Got a Honda 70 ATV for 4th bday and this kids mom wouldn't let him come over anymore. Also gave my dad a crappy .25 cal Jennings that jammed every 3rd shot. Didn't want it in the house.
God forbode i ever have kids, baptism by guns and quads/bikes just like my brother and i were1951 ford, cke, PoleCrusher and 5 others Thank this. -

Screw whatever Ford designer decided that A) the v6 and v8 would share the same 6r80 trans but have different bell housings and oh yeah let's not make the bell housing removable. Oh and one more thing let's make the bolts different lengths.
In other news got the t case and trans split, trans and engine split. T case on new trans and almost got the new trans on the new engine if it wasn't for wrong size bolts. Found 2 in the bin of the right length to hold it together since I manged to get it lined up.
Going to try to find new bolts tomorrow and then get engine, trans, t case, and drive shafts back in the truck. After that its small stuff I can do without help.1951 ford, Swine hauler, cke and 8 others Thank this. -
