Deno's is a crack up. When I was in HS (in the 80's), a friends father was a driver. We would sometimes meet him there for lunch or dinner when he was passing through (this was his real dad, he was adopted). The place reeked from smokers, the haze was horrible. Then it was closed a few years bacj for a little over a year and re-opened earlier this year, haven't been in there in quite some time.

I'm not much of a fan of Sapp's in Denver because its a pita to get into and the one in SLC fills up by 3pm.

A lot of unpleasent memories at that Sapps. Back in the seventies when I was leased to them Curtis owned that property. That whole complex where the restuarant is was their shop. The XXX store was dispatch HQ (seems appropriate somehow.) The hotel across the street, several cold storage places, and a big trailer yard down the street were also owned by them. Stan Leverage sold Curtis to FFE in the early 80s.

When I leased on to Curtis I was tired of tarping, tieing down, and running OD 90% of the time and decided I wanted to be a gentleman truck driver, close the doors and go. Six months of having my trailer used for free storage for days at a time and dealing with grocery warehouses convinced me I wasn't cut out to be a gentleman and I went back to open deck equipment.

If Sapps in Denver is PITA, then you don't want to know what I think about your driving ability!

Nothing difficult about it at all...

I can get into Sapps, but it seems like everytime I go there something is going on whether its construction or police activity in that area, so I go to the TA.

    ????

It's a lot quieter at the Sapp Bros - all the BS is going on at the TA these days... DPD is over there on a daily basis. Constantly see lot lizards, bums, druggies at the TA.

I'm guessing its a hit or miss thing. I haven't had any problems at the TA, plus I haven't been there in awhile.

The TA recently expanded thier lot, which did nothing but add more parkign for the lizards to hassle more drivers. The cops still patrol it regularly, what happened was the Pilot and DPD began cracking down so much it all moved to the TA.

i refuse to go anywhere near quebec st. the previous company i drove for has a terminal near smith street and quebec. i would go there a chill out. the wally world supercenter was walking distance, too. the red lion hotel has monthly cage fighting events.

i made the mistake of coming to the flying j in aurora. man, i dunno if i'll be able to get out of my current spot when it's finally time to leave.

Just because thats what the rep tells you, thats not always true. to get a good price with pepsi you need to have a contract, and from speaking to some of the employess at S.B. in denver they dont have a contract- so they dont get the best pricing so they have to price accordingly.
