It teaches self discipline. More kids need taught that. Boys and Girls. I struggled with it as a teen. Guilty of reacting to situations, not controlling them. Took some bumps and bruises to change my mind. Funny how that works.

Ive got a 9yr old daughter and almost 7 yrs old son. When they "pick a fight" with dad.. i absolutely stomp them. Down hard on the floor, chokeholds, armbars, sit on their chest and slap em, eye gouge, hair pull, ridicule.. I become their first vicious bully so they know how to handle what the real world has become. No i dont really hurt them, its all light but they know play is over.

Im giving them the sensation of what its like to have 3 or 4 kids stomping you in a circle so that they have a perspective on the seriousness of running your mouth these days and getting pinned.

We live in a very poor, violent redneck meth riddled kinda place where you better know how to do battle. Ive studied war and applied the rules a long time now, they still work. Use your brains to ensure you are never attacked by surprise. Anyone can get their head kicked to pieces in a few minutes. Anyone who doesnt think so hasnt been jumped yet.

Anyway they love it. They can both brawl and arent big headed bullies or scaredy cats .. Got it just right so far. My daughter can take a punch and fire right back quite hard.

Same here. Not getting into fights (not starting them anyways) just making other stupid decisions partying too hard. Was always anxious/couldn't get my mind to shut up. Anyone can master the body, it's the mind that's the real challenge.

my dad did the same with us, little brother is 3 yrs younger. We loved the #### out of it LOL and got into lifting weights around 12 yrs old. One of my dad's brothers has learning disabilities (few yrs older than dad) and he was always getting in fights sticking up for his older brother. The only fights we got in at school was sticking up for the kid everyone would pick on. They never expect a headbutt lol.

Like the American Sniper scene telling the boys to be sheep dogs and you won't ever get in trouble going after the wolves.

Living in the hood imo will give em a better shot at surviving the real world than if you lived in a gated community. Ages 18-20 i was running to North Philly to score for the rich suburban kids that were too afraid to. They were stupid enough to hand me their $$$ and i was dumb enough to go LOL .

I was Always looking for that escape route and blend in wear/dress like the locals. Use your 6th sense, if it don't feel right it ain't. When rounding corners keep a wide berth between you and the building and watch the shadows. Be a chameleon and keep your head down. Keep any valuables tucked in your sock or the waistband. I was lucky and was never bothered. If i did get into a situation make the 1st move on em and you better go off full ####ed. Balls, knees, neck the eyes and be LOUD.

That gave me an idea of what to expect doing food service my 1st yr NYC and Baltimore.

Growing up around poverty and drugs, turn that into learning experience and hopefully they won't ever be in that position and a step a head of their peers already. If i was exposed to that early in life i might not of made those bonehead moves in my teens

From the sounds of it they'll be just fine. Cool you got em on the loader. I loved being on the tractor and the skidsteer.
