No doubt. Is that motor tan or discolored white? Lol. I know you said a model cat, but I see Cummins tan.1951 ford, PoleCrusher, cke and 5 others Thank this.

Well Sir if you must know. I wanted to have it blasted and painted by now. However I need to do some pre work. Replacing stuff like the rusted out brakets and rear member. So everything is sealed behind the brakets. And it might have to last a few months now before I put it down again. Trying to be proactive, not reactive. And not spend money right now. You sound like you have been busy!1951 ford, PoleCrusher, cke and 6 others Thank this. -
Buy the front half. Because that appears to be a scab frame job.1951 ford, PoleCrusher, cke and 5 others Thank this. -

Its too long for what I do. Throw an air liner cut off on it and bring it in around 270
It could be arched because of the box so as to not sag with horses in maybe. Idk.Last edited: Apr 19, 2020

Not possible to swap to a newer better designed head?1951 ford, PoleCrusher, cke and 5 others Thank this.

CAT no longer has new heads in inventory. Reman only.
I looked in to converting mine from precup to direct injection since I was rebuilding and needed pistons anyways. There was a lot more involved in that than just pistons and the head. I recall I would have needed to change pump timing and have some pump work done as well. Net gain would have been a measly 5 hp and maybe 0.5 mpg increase in fuel mileage. Kind of a wash since she ain't gonna be a workin' girl anymore.1951 ford, dwells40, PoleCrusher and 8 others Thank this.
