I did once put a couple gallons (can't remember how much exactly) of fuel in the DEF tank....

I noticed a few seconds later....
called the company immediately and they told me not to turn the engine on...
I stayed at the fuel pump waiting for the tow truck... two tow trucks came... one for the tractor and another for the trailer cause in PA I was told, they can't tow the tractor hooked to the trailer.... was towed to a shop and they cleaned up the DEF tank... and replaced the hoses... I think... can't remember...
What happens is that the DEF tank was missing a piece inside its opening... which made that much larger... I had told maintenance boss weeks before but he ignored it and I ran with it...
I started fueling and talking with folks in Brasil, my dad was in the hospital for surgery and I became distracted... I never talked on the phone while fueling ever again...Last edited: Apr 19, 2020

Read my posting above... I guess putting DEF in the fuel tank is much MUCH worse than what I did...

Sounds like you have too much work related stuff in your head.... and anxiety... and stress... lots of responsibilities and others having expectations on you... I am not a "dream reader"... but just throwing my 2cents...

Oh... wait a minute... yes... Exactly... you would lose the engine... Absolutely...x1Heavy, Rideandrepair, lovesthedrive and 3 others Thank this.

But it would be much worse than putting fuel in the DEF tank... cause the fuel tank would have to be cleaned up... it would have to be removed...Rideandrepair, lovesthedrive, 650cat425 and 1 other person Thank this.

Ya mean that....
DEF doesn't stand for Diesel Engine Fuel?
