Yeah, I've seen how fast the loads disappear.. I'm still at truck/trailer upgrade point which makes it all the more hard. I've been seriously considering just buying a 3 car wedge and doing cars for a bit. I can find .50-.70 cars all day long.. So I know I can put together $1.50-$2 loads out of FL running cars but I don't really want to run cars exclusively because you are always heavy....

I never really looked into the car hauling, is central dispatch the only source for those?

Once you have good ratings and enough time under your numbers you can get on the Cars Arrive and Metrogistics load boards. Some of the jobs on these load boards are not on central and pay ok.

I usually look for 2 units that go for 90 cents or more each which are always big or heavy units and then throw on a small third for what ever I can find going in the same direction. I can usually hit $2 all miles doing it this way.

I actually got on Metrogistics my 1st month same with RPM freight because I could move loads they needed moved. Metro loads were always too cheap though but seems since they changed their name the rates went up a bit..

I'm still trying to get on at Cars Arrive/Ready logistics though.. I've tried many times to call them up and say..."hey look I've seen this same car on Central for 3 days I can pick it up and deliver next day.." (that worked with both the others) but nope these guys are stubborn...my guess is it's because I can only haul 2 cars being I'm mixed freight/cars so they don't want to let non dedicated on.

Honestly though I do like how much easier and faster it is to book car loads vs freight. Freight guys make you sign all sorts of paperwork, send them insurance certs ect..ect.. Meanwhile I can call a car broker and most of the time they simply look up your MC or DOT then dispatch the car to you then you get cash/check on delivery..

Alsao it's like a race to get freight on the load boards. You have to watch the boards like a hawk and then it's a race to dial that number when a good one pops up.. Even then they might pull the load from you if someone else calls and does it cheaper. Meanwhile the same cars often sit on the board for days letting you easily piece together a load.

My biggest thing against cars is you need to do at least 3 to make any money and that means you will always be carrying 10-12k or more. With freight I'm usually averaging 6-7k lbs meaning it's much easier to do it as non cdl.

on flip side I still can't get any of these car brokers to ever give me reviews. I ask and beg and when time comes they still never do.. I even have sent follow up messages asking them to please give me a rating and still never works...

You better call your insurance agent. Cars require a higher insurance rate from what I understand.
