:biggrin_25513:This company is Satan himself. Marten cares nothing about there drivers or there families. I was making $188 wk, no miles, always repowering, qualcomm beeping all the time. No home time. They are real good on hanging up on you if they don't like a ?? u have, they charge for fuel, tolls, scales, lumpers, and forget to reimburse and if u ??? them on it, well u just got red flagged. Oh and u better hope ur log book matches there system to the second or there will be hell to pay. I have been told by Randy Marten himself I'm stupid! hand written himself. Stay far, far, far away!!! I had a family member almost die and had to get home and they laughed about it. Does this sound like a company u want to work for??? Be smart, DON"T!!!

Did Randy Marten really hand write a note telling you you're stupid? You should hang that on your wall and claim it as a driving award.

    God speed!

Are you serious? You don't have a problem with company drivers paying for scales and not getting layover due to weather? That's not cheap? I guess more power to ya... I wouldn't work for them just for those reasons; and I hear they have some other quirky rules to boot. I personally think they are way cheap...but that's just my opinion.:biggrin_25512:

I personally know a driver who needed his insulin and his fleet manager kept him out so long he had to check into a hospital.

They don't reimburse for scales, they don't pay for truck washes (do if you EVER get by a terminal and have the time you can do it yourself), you can't take the truck home unless you can fit it in your driveway, and you cannot take the trailer home at all. You have chains on your truck only for DOT compliance, if you are caught using them they will fire you (you are told this in orientation). If the weather is so bad you need chains you are required to shut down and sit unpaid until the roads open up for non chain travel (have know guys that sat for 4 days waiting).

Not quite the truth. They do reimburse for scales. The truck wash thing is normal for companies. Especially now days. If you live more the 50 miles from a term you CAN take the truck home w/trl IF you have a safe place to park it. IE you can see it from your front door. I don't disagree with this. I can get both in my front yard. I agree chains are for looks. In 18 years I have never set more then 2 days waiting for the road to open up. Chaining up is a waste of time. By the time you get them on (or shortly after wards) they will either drop the chains or close the road. They don't forbid you from using them. They just tell you that if you do thats on you. Wreak and you are fired. Which I agree with. Part of truck driving is dealing with weather including knowing when to park it and wait it out.
