Lasers. Imagine that.
One time I told dockboss to just lock the #### thing to the building and it will square up. CLICK! THUMP its square. See how hard that is?
He kicked me out. Called me sassy so and so.
Just had to "Square things" with dispatcher =)

Do flatbed, just put it where the rigger and crane operator are happy, things must have changed since I was bumbing docks, if the dock plate went in, everything was good
jimbo3791, D.Tibbitt, HoneyBadger67 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I wouldn't worry about it, you will improve with experience. If you ever walk the docks on a driver count or what have you look at the trailers and you'll see there's a whole lot of folks that don't back square.

GOAL, is your best bet. mirror adjustment does count towards this as well. i use to have the inner edge of my mirrors lined up the the edge of the trailer. if too much trailer got into one side or another of a mirror? i knew i was way over that side.
takes time to get it spot on. -
Wouldn't just laying a 2x4 up by the dock perpendicular to tge dock give good ref point for if you're straight on the dock? Asking for a friend.
