I have an 06 ISX with a 10 speed Eaton Fuller. Yesterday my clutch started rattling as it was spinning. Almost like it’s rubbing something. It does it in every gear but 9th and you can hear it slightly at idle. No doubt it’s the clutch making the noise but the fact it’s smooth in 9th has me confused. I’m all ears guys. Thanks in advance for yalls help!

FRO I think is an overdrive transmission, making 9th gear direct. Does it do it in 4th as well?

And the clutch is still operating as it should as well as shifting smoothly through all gears. Just making the rattling noise as the clutch spins

I'm probably stating the obvious, but how long has it been since the throw out bearing was greased?

yes sir. It was back in February when I had it PM’d. It almost seems as if it could be shifting back and forth. When I’m going down a hill you don’t hear it.

Well, I'm not sure why you're going two months between grease jobs, but I'd try greasing it and making sure you do the throw out bearing well before you do anything else. That'll be the cheapest and easiest place to start troubleshooting.

I'm leaning towards internal transmission issue. 9th is direct, no torque is being put through any of the countershafts in direct. However without being there to listen I can't say for sure.
