Just wanted to say thanks to all those that have asked questions and the others that answered them. I believe just about every question that I had was answered. I want to get my CDLs and start driving but I'm just trying to choose the right path to get there. I can't find a job locally and I have a family to feed so I thought truck driving would be good. That's all that advertises in my local paper. That or nurses. I do have one question, though...

Since PAM uses auto-shifts - does C1 use those to train as well?

Also, living in GA - which terminal would I use most. Memphis or Jacksonville?

Does P.A.M. still offer the $500 sign-on bonus?

No you will not train using auto shifts..... You are better off going with USA Truck(wish i did) and they do not run to NYC.
With PAM, one week you may get 500 miles, next week 800, then next 2500(maybe)... you will usually get one good week per month at PAM. AND they will run you alot to New Jersey and New York City... so prepare yourself for spending most your time on I95... ALSO I noticed that the longer you stay w/PAM and make more per mile, the more crappy short runs you get... When i first started at 27 cents per mile, i would get 900-1500 miles per load alot of the time... When i got the max per mile, i would get 150 mile runs!!!.... I felt like a shuttle driver. AND good luck in New York city!! it's amazing i was never involved in an accident! PAM loves to run you there and if you refuse, you get laid off. GOODLUCK!

My Driver Agent at Driver Solutions said that PAM would hire me because I live in GA but USA's website says GA is in their hiring area as well. Do I have a choice?

thats why 5 or 6 pam drivers i talked to on the radio told me there averaging 2500 to 3000 miles a week.... but we shouldnt listen to 10 people cause they might be lying.. we should just listen to you cry and take that to be the truth.. did you ever think that you might be the reasonyour time at this company sucked..complaining and late loads are some reasons for poor runs...
i dunno if you where late but i know you seem to like to complain alot.

your problay one of those drivers who sits in thelounge gripin about no miles while you qc in the truck is goin off!!

No Stupid, I was never late on any loads or complained about anything while I was there, I never refused a load even though they were chitty and no miles....

You asked 5 or 6 drivers at a truck stop about miles and they told you 2500 to 3000/wk and 10 people couldn't be lying?? Which is it 5,6 or 10? Your full of #### and prob do not even have a radio. Maybe the teams(not solo drivers stupid) are getting those miles. AND just curious what truck stop actually had 5 or 6 "PAM" drivers? lol-- PAM is a small company and laid alot of drivers off you moron! So, nice try. Liar.

Basically PAM sux, if you don't believe me then by all means please go work there and see for yourself.... Wish there was someone like myself that warned me about this company before i wasted my time working there.

AND no Stupid, I'm not crying about it but trying to warn others about this shady company.
