Well In my sleep deprived state tonight I parked straight into a spot because I was just done with the day and wanted a shower......only to find out the place closed their showers.

Needless to say I had to figure out how to back these things up.

I have no issues backing up super b’s and tri-quads but god #### these things are another issue!

I was 4” away from not being able to leave my spot. Definitely a lesson learned.

If you parked straight into a spot, why would you need to back up?
Also, if you were done for the day and planned to stay there anyway...

Is there even a truck stop designed for Rocky Mountain Doubles parking?

I can back them up straight... But not around any obstacles... My dad on the other hand can back them up almost as good as a single trailer. I've tried to learn how, but I just cant get it.

I had to back them up to go to another place for a shower.
My boss just bought these and I was the first truck to hook up to them.

I’ll be working these things here so I definitely plan on practicing to see what I can do with them backwards.

ive never pulled a Rocky Mountain set, just regular ol' pups. and 15 or 20 ft was all I could ever get before they were too cattywampus to go any more.

There's a old school trick if your in a jam and can't back them up. But I'm hesitant to divulge the information. Rope or chain come into play.

The biggest problem I remember fighting was that depending on how the weight was distributed on the pup, it would react a bit slower or faster... Especially on uneven terrain. After many years of trying I finally concluded that I could only back them in a straight line.

But I have successfully backed them about 1/2 a mile down a gravel lane... I had forgotten my cigarettes on the loader, backing up was faster than walking, or driving 10 miles to a place to turn around... Lol

The only RMD’s I’ve ever backed up had a pin for the turntable, so I guess that’s probably cheating. Lol

Here’s the buggers...... not happy pulling a rusted trailer!!! Hahah not complaining though.

My Tri-drive / studio sleeper doesn’t help either.

I would say the same thing, no?

5th wheel on truck, pinto on back of first trailer, 5th wheel on start of second trailer.

Only difference would be a longer connector between 2 trailers.
