So...
You beat someone out as a carrier for the freight you were hauling. Now you're upset someone beat you out on that freight?
But sure, we're thieves.
Welcome to transportation.

Why do so few in this industry not understand business? Its embarassing. Yes it sucks when you lose a customer but it happens, just a matter of time. No need to call a competitor a thief or rant and rave, provide better service and continue to look for new business.
larry2903, TankerP, Sirscrapntruckalot and 5 others Thank this. -
Welcome to the world of trucking. What happened to you isn't good but it's something that happens a lot.
Either get used to it and develop some tools to deal with it or sell your truck and get a more non competitive job.
And...if you're still thinking about hauling rock, wait 'til the middle of winter when your shipper or broker tells you that ".winter rates" are now effective. In other words, it's winter, work is slow, there's too many trucks so lets see how many desperate truckers are out there and how far we can chop the rate and still get dummies to haul for us.larry2903, Deere hunter, magoo68 and 1 other person Thank this. -
You don't want any competition I suggest selling your truck and getting a nice government job.Midwest Trucker, LtlAnonymous, Deere hunter and 3 others Thank this.

too many threads out there with snowflake mentality. "cry" someone stole money from me because they under bid. "cry" broker is evil cuz he's only offering XX per mile for this load. "cry" the put half n half in my latte when I said non-fat soy milk....People need to grow up and man up. There will always be someone who will out bid you, and there will always be someone willing to take that crap rate rather than sit on their arse. Your job is to find the best rates and work your arse off to find them. Not whine about someone else doing better than you.

I just want my shipper back

Wonderful world of Transportation.PPLC Thanks this.

If your shipper is rate driven there's only one way to get him back and that's to cut the rate even farther.
That's never a good idea.
Look for a new shipper. Soon.Ruthless, Deere hunter, magoo68 and 2 others Thank this. -
Many times when a customer tells you it's rates, they are just trying to be nice by not telling you how much you've screwed up. Late PU, late Del, shape of trailer(s), attitude of drivers, treating them like most would a broker.
Sometimes it may be a combination of things.
I would sure like to live in a world where everything always went my way, but then i'm a realist.Brettj3876, Ruthless, Deere hunter and 3 others Thank this. -
I disagree with this point .. we’ve had shippers tell us that they will give us the chance to match or get close to the new bidder after years of good service.. normally after low bidder messing up a few months they are calling again.. btw this usually happens when they get someone new in the shipping department ..Nostalgic, olddog_newtricks and Lite bug Thank this.
