750k miles? 1 million? So it’s common to hear about replacing the “rear” engine mounts, but not much about the mileage interval. What about the “front” engine mount? The front one I never hear about.

Never knew of a set interval. If you take a look at them and the rubber mount looks cracked or protruding out then its probably time. Also depends on the quality of the material as to longevity.

I replaced mine with ATCO polyurethane, and again only 5 yrs. later with original type. First time they were 14 yrs old, way overdue. The polys were shot within 5 yrs. to my surprise. Soaked with oil, but still, very dissatisfied with poly type.If I had to guess, 7 yrs or 750k, definitely would benefit from new mounts. If not sooner. Get new bolts, makes reassembly, much smoother.

I replace rear engine mounts when doing a clutch. There right in your face and time well spent to change them while I'm in there vs having one fail and have to spend a whole day just changing one side instead of knocking them both out in a few hours.

Depends on the application of course and if its beat to death hauling tanker round the city or is it styrofoam through the plains?

Front can be done anytime and usually outlast rears anyhow.
