Hey guys, I'm no longer over the road... Now I'm local in South Georgia, hauling sand and gravel in a 40' dump trailer and Kenworth day cab...I love it, making almost the same money... Hope you all are all staying safe and healthy

I did that a couple years ago actually. The grass was so tall and thick I literally never saw it and just assumed it was grass I could sweep across with the front passenger side edge of the truck. Bad assumption. Some tiny little crap hole in Newark, NJ. I was trying to back a 40 ft container into. I offered to pay for it but he said don’t worry about it. Punishment was I got to drive around in a truck with part of the bumper missing and admit I did it to anybody who mentioned it lol.

The headlight assembly on the new Cascadias are about $900. That is the price given to the company. I should know, I busted one last year on a 2020 Cascadia. The company charged me $1000 payed over two paychecks.

I am betting that was an anti terrorism test, since those guys like to get old straight jobs and do in crowds and such. Most Walmarts have them in front so they can't just drive into the store. Target is a little more clever, they have the round red balls out front.
It is cool to watch. Just as the guy is saying "praise Allah", well all heck breaks loose.

Good point; bet you are right!!! Here in the states we have enough 'truckers' to test the integrity of 'our' bollards; no control / placebo necessary, LoL~! ;)

Bit late of a reply so I'm sure it's all settled by now, but in case it happens again, consider doing any needed repairs yourself if possible.

I once hit another trailer from my company at a terminal and it was witnessed by the yard jockey. Put a gouge in the side of it from my door hinge. I took pics, siliconed the gouge real good, took another pic, then informed my company and sent the pics. Safety guy thanked me for reporting it and repairing it instead of just ignoring it and I never heard a peep about it after that.

When I was a new driver, maybe a month after getting my CDL, I broke one of my fender mirrors at a tight dock that had construction equipment in the yard. Just bought a new mirror at a truck stop and installed it. Never said a word to the company and far as I know, they never knew about it.
