I just got this email from Covenant today:

We offer top-level team advantages, including:

    • $40,000 Teaming Bonus
    • 52–56 CPM (HazMat team driver pay)
    • Online and Onsite Orientation
    • $1,000 Minimum Guarantee pay every week for HazMat drivers (dependent on experience)
    • Hometime guarantee (ask recruiters what we pay if you’re late getting home!)
    • Paid HazMat endorsement (if you don’t already have it)
    • No In-Cab cameras
    • For students and those without recent experience, we offer some of the best training the industry with great pay.
    • Operation Victory: We have the industry leading military program that includes recognition, credit for military experience, and an OJT/Apprenticeship program

    Online orientation?

I see they're actually advertising no in-cab cameras. It's about time somebody at a mega carrier pulled their head out and realized what the presence or absence of cameras does to recruiting.

Wonder how many years it'll take to collect the entire 40K.

I'm sure there's a McDonald's or Wendy's or something like that in Texarkana that SRT x employees can apply for work.

Jarhed1964 and Voodoo Pyg Thank this.

Well I will say this much:
When I was a corrections officer from 2009 to 2015, I hated that place like half of America hates change. I was belittled and harassed every day I went to work in that hell hole for 5 1/2 years of my life. This was for once a month pay and ####ty benefits to go along with it. I left that career for this one and have made better money and met great people along the way (even at SRT). But as much as I abhor the corrections system, in no way would I EVER wish for someone to lose their job and this is because I was treated extremely bad by the majority of all who worked with me. There just is no honor in being that way. Sounds to me like you're still bitter eh?

The above also applies here. Shouldn't matter what jobs those people take up. I can only pray that they will be able to continue supporting their families. Like it or not, believe it or not, there are/were some great people in Texarkana and there are/were happy drivers at SRT.

    Jarhed1964 and kemosabi49 Thank this.

I don't work Covenant side but can tell you some of this is half correct. There are in fact in-cab camera that face outward. They are one-sided which is why I bought my own. Their trucks come with Collision Mitigation Systems that will trigger to absolutely nothing and hit the brakes on the tractor, causing a hard-braking event to which Safety will call you. That bonus is paid out over time though I haven't personally met any of the drivers who've collected it. They would like you to have Hazmat and will actually pay for you to get it if you're interested. There are very few if any solo drivers at Covenant. They are majority team operations. My recommendation is to get someone you know and get along with.

SRT had there chance. But operations and personnel would not change because they was a click group. All those bogus Town Hall meetings about how well SRT was doing. Well it looks like SRT brought this karma upon their self's. As for me I couldn't be happier karma is a b**ch! And I'm sure there's a whole lot of drivers out there that feels the same way as I do.

    Voodoo Pyg Thanks this.

Once again, I'm not doubting a word you say. However slamming them and making a spectacle on a post about them still isn't the way to go. And I think you meant "clique". Here's a question: Do you believe everything that anyone in any company tells you? I have to see it in writing personally and everything they spoke about doing for me was emailed to me and they didn't stray. And if you were actually over it, you wouldn't try and tear down every post about SRT on this site. That's an extremely obvious observation. And by the way, don't get too ####y. Karma comes back around if you actually know the laws of karma. You may be high now, but keep on the path you're on and see what happens. Arrogance is one of the worst human traits.
