Getting up at 5:45am to tow a boat up 80, gotta be there by 9:00 but I'm planning on getting in around 8:30am to unload the boat and reload my "backhaul", you guessed it, another boat! Actually the one I'm bringing back is too small for the trailer and will probably not fit on the bunks correctly, gotta tie it all down to make sure it doesn't slide. I'm only driving a 1-ton Dually and towing a boat trailer...but I can still outrun all the little rice rocket Civics even when towing 8000lbs behind me =)

Lately I've been running out here a lot (I'm taking a break at Flag City truck stop right now) I never have any trouble out here...The roads suck but I run about 57/62 MPH and they never give me a second look. I run legal, My equipment is clean, Well maintained, Lights work, Logs always up to the last stop. I've been getting some really decent freight into and out of California the last few months! I'd rather run somewhere else but I'll follow the money wherever it takes me. I stay out of Oregon though...Road tax is too high and the freight is all garbage rates.

Hey madbunny, you can go 60 in oregon but dont push your luck there, i do know where most all the hiding spots are for the hp there, and i know above 60 and your nailed, plus they will check you out every which way they can, Ive seen many a truck get nailed in oregon for speeding, wouldnt want you to be one of them.

Watch your axle weight at Ashland too....
Do not get heavier than 200 lbs over on any axle....Otherwise you just made Salem a little richer....

As I said Oregon is avoided like they have a plague....oh wait they do. :biggrin_2559: Our speedometer says she'll do 150....and I've told my partner repeatedly "No you can't see if it's just a number on the dial". Leadfoot that she is best stay in the states that aren't sure what the black streak was. :biggrin_25524: Not sure what this says about me since I'm the one that taught her.

i have heard good and bad about CA ,some drivers who get nailed hard for anything and others that dont even get bothered.I have heard in some cases they go through the truck, check the trailer, truck and load and find any excuse they can get you on..Now for those who have been there is this true or just hogwash? We havent booked a load that way yet but we were thinking bout it and want to know everything we should before we head that way,any input on this would be appriciated..
