Hey I just bought a Cobra 29lx and the truck I was assigned the other day has all the wires however there is no black or red wire like on the radio, just green and white. Which wires do I connect together?

Get your voltmeter out and check each one to ground. If neither has 12vdc check the fuse in your panel.
If you hook the CB up reverse polarity it can let the brand new factory smoke out.
And btw, you need to tune the antenna length or the CB will work like crap and eventually die.tscottme Thanks this. -
Use a test light or just hook em up and cross your fingers

Candy... Cane...

Okay, thank you. Do they make cigarette lighter plugs that have the black and red wire out, maybe connect them to the cb?
-
Yes they do. Using one will make a wire from you cig lighter to the back of your radio. I'd buy the cheapest voltmeter at walmart though. It has more use and allows you to use the factory power leads.

Lick your fingers...then grab just one of the wires with your wet fingers...take other hand and touch something metal...You should be able to figure out which one is HOT fairly quickly....
Once you figure out which one is HOT, connect that wire to the radios RED wire...The radios black wire can just be connected to a grounding screw somewhere under the dash...650cat425 Thanks this. -
No no no ... get a volt meter a light tells you nothing.

Well if two wires are already preinstalled from the factory, and in place where the cb mounts, id say one is hot, one not. Light would work

Could be hot with 24 volts
