True, but why would the factory place a 24 volt lead where the cb mounts? Do they do that these days on newer trucks? I wouldnt know, i drive a 04 model.

All the light will do is show power, not polarity. So yeah you have power, but which one is actually how?
Most people won't look at the using a metal surface to figure it out, they will just touch the two wires and that's it. Seen this a lot in the past, someone who has no clue and boom goes the radio.

Lol i use my voltmeter more than id like to admit lol. I Didnt know preinstalled factory cb wires would be such a big boobie trap.

My cb radio is just like you. I do not know how to install it. my husband asked the seller about the problem and everything was resolved. You can also ask the person who sold the radio for you

Well, in a brand new truck the labels are installed and if lucky you may even have a little pig tail that’s labeled and plugs into their factory harness.
