Alright. I Know my problem, fuel filters have metal in them, fuel rail has a little bit of metal, and the tank has metal. All really fine like dust almost
Truck was running good. But started losing fuel psi when demand was high (3500miles after oil, fuel filter change) so checked fuel filter found metal.
Initial thought injectorpump/lift pump gone, but will crank and run. Idle smooth, just loss of power during high demand
Is that possible or did some clown dump shavings in my tank!

Sure sounds like hpfp to me. If some clown put shavings in your tank they wouldn't make it past your filters to get to the fuel rail.
little cat 500 Thanks this. -
High pressure fuel pump. This is not an unusual problem, besides a new pump, lots of labor, the entire fuel system has to be cleaned out.

Detroit warranty replaces not only the fuel pump, but also all lines, fuel rail and all injectors.
But they also have techs that can’t break loose a fuel line without messing up an injector. So I can see why they just come to expect it!!!uncleal13 Thanks this. -

Back in the shop, metal in fuel again, 27,000 miles on new fuel system....shop tried to claim that I picked up rust from my local fuel supply tank, said that tiny particles got through the filters and damaged the pump, and saying it voided my warranty that fuel company caused the damage. I called ######## and said what the heck is the purpose of a fuel system that can be damaged by tiny particles that can knowingly get through the filter, On the last trip to shop had all new system and updated my filter housing to the up to date model along with updated pump, anyone have the same issues with the new pump system?
