Good advice, but the dumb*ss drivers using the shoulder for non-emergency reasons don't care about their life or the lives of others. Parking on the shoulder & at the fuel pumps should be enough to cancel your CDL.

    Let him scream.

His company was bought out by Exel about may of 1995 according to 8K filings and eventual voluntary revocation of associated authroity and licensing in 2003 under DOT registry.

I am happy not to haul any more of those little heinz ketchup dry van loads from say Toledo to Carlise or mechanicsburg PA in lumping next day down US322 and tollroad or Ohio roads through small towns. To this day I cannot pickup a little heinz ketchup packet at mcdonalds without mental issues and physical phantom pain. LOL.

HA.. I should be so lucky. That was all we did it seems.

Breakdown is the only reason to be on the shoulder of an interstate.
One look at the GPS tells you the next off ramp has an on ramp.

Yep. On the RM 740 just press on the EXITS button on the right side of the screen. When you touch on any exit listed it will show you if the exit is shaped for an easy off then on for a truck.

I can’t believe how many I see parked on the shoulder, lights out, obviously gone to bed.

I had a truck that was creeping down the shoulder with his four ways on going around Chicago late one night .

So I moved into the middle lane to give him some room, suddenly he comes across both lanes doing about 10 mph .

I mashed the brakes just enough to have the truck to the left of me shoot ahead of me and by the skin of my teeth and my hood and his trailer. whipped it to the left and fell in behind him as we both flew by the truck.

What the guy was thinking I have no idea and if I couldn't have gone left I would have piled into him at 50 mph.

I drive with my eyes focused on my mirrors and what is going on 1/4 mile down the road and always assume someone is going to do the Stupid move and slow up and prepare to maneuver .

    It's Crazy out there
