Looking to relocate to the LA area.
I have a solid employment record, clean criminal background, and no moving violations, with current TWIC card.
I have experience with local delivery in NYC/Long Island in a day cab, and currently, experience with OTR (some specialized equipment hauling, in dry vans).
Looking to settle down, no job is to hard. Prior to driving, I worked construction, and have experience operating various construction and agricultural equipment. The *priority* is being home every night (though the exact hours are flexible, as I’m willing to work really early or fairly late shifts, just NOT a full overnight shift) and the financial compensation being a fair wage for the area.
Food service, construction, waste disposal, driver unloads....pretty much anything would be considered. Priority is a consistent schedule and decent pay scale.
I’ve looked on Indeed to get an idea what’s out there, but interested in picking up whatever tidbits I can, and start developing a plan to make it happen.
Any companies I should look at, or avoid, in particular? Anything I’m overlooking that would be needed in a big city that this country bumpkin doesn’t know about?
Thanks in advance!

The "L.A." area is pretty big. you should plan on commuting to work. Fontana is truck friendly with plenty of co.s While theres plenty of freight out of the harbor area (L.A. Long Beach) there aren't any truck terminals nearby. Corona has tons of dirt and redi-mix operations. San Fernando Valley somewhat truck friendly, no truck stops except in Ontario/Fontana. Also Castaic.

Food service is always a good bet if you want to make money. Early days may see you working an extra board bid that doesn't give you much consistency but a little seniority will cure that soon enough.
