    Hi folks,

I am having a hard time finding OO Websites and keywords to promote it to find customers and loads. Do you any of you have a website that you pay for clicks on? What keywords do you use? Is it working for you to find direct customers? I am somewhat localized to DFW and Texas market so my small trucking company is not trying to find customers all over the country with one truck and Trailer. A few shippers out of DFW to turn into customers can keep me pretty busy.

I am just having a hard time coming up with effective content and keywords to market my business. Depending on brokers and load boards is not a long-term or medium-term solution. I need my own customers.

Don’t waste your time on the internet trying to get people to call you. Maybe a cheap website with basic contact info,
Much better results calling companies directly. And best of all good old shoe leather, knocking on some doors. Unfortunately this is a broker ruled world.
    Good luck

People that have those answers make 100/hr. I can tell you know somewhat what your doing. You can achieve what your wanting but it’s like trucking. SEO is constantly changing and you must very in depth know your stuff or you won’t be successful.

I’d just say use some of the tools that show how many searches certain terms get. Maybe don’t go after the most difficult one to rank for, but a handful of good volume keywords but where you can feasibly get traction on them. Look at what your competition is doing and going for. Get creative. Once you have some decent link juice and some rankings then maybe start targeting a more broad term and you may just have enough authority by then to see the traffic enough to see real results with leads.

If you have no idea what I’m talking about then you have a lot to learn. If you know what I’m talking about then take the advice and do it.

BTW since you only care about local results. This should be pretty darn achievable with some work and continued learning. Just do yourself a favor and keep it all white hat, maybe some grey in there lol. Black hat is short sighted and you’ll end up just screwing yourself and your domain in the mid to long term.

Lastly, don’t underestimate the power of the book face. I hate it but you cant avoid it. Everybody is on social media and it’s free, easy, targeted traffic. You can pay promote stuff too but doing things organically is ideal. It’s all about content, people share good content. Bad content, you can’t even pay people to look at.

You could easily spend 2-3 weeks with google AdWords, if you’re just starting out I don’t think you can afford to be off the road for that long. As someone else said get a box of business cards, you could knock on 20 doors in one afternoon. How good are you in front of a customer? Gather up your confidence and try it, even if you hate it, it’s YOUR company!
Wish you good luck, hard work is always rewarded. Don’t market your business, go out and sell your business.

If you're in the TL business, how often does someone call you?(Not talking about referral from current customers) Most are being hammered on by multiple carriers every day. If they have to look to find a new carrier most likely there is a problem with them.

I get several cold calls a week, just from various internet listings, and we don’t use outside carriers.

Been thinking about starting a Google adword campaign myself. I did it for several years and it works really well.

The best key words you can use are the names of your competitors in the DFW area. Basically just bury the name of every trucking company you can think of somewhere on your home page, then experiment with those same names as key words on Google to see which ones get the best results.
