ok I posted this under a post under FFe , I guess I should post it here too, since people wanting info on a company r more likely to look here. well i think ffe is a rip off, i went thru orientation, but after my 1st trip out i knew I wouldnt be able to drive because of my carpal tunnel so I told them to get me back in, i had been off for a year and really thought I would be able to do it . so they sent me my check and didnt even pay me a penny a mile , I was told I would be getting .35 a mile ( I have 12 years exp). here is a copy of what they paid me . a flat rate of $18.41 for driving from dallas TX to KC MO (dh-KC MO to new Century KS) then New Century KS to Dallas TX , its done on legal paper so I had to make 2 copies to show it

Swift, like some of the other newb-magnet companies, is really fond of the ol' bait-n-switch. At one point, I was looking for a casual driving job to bring a little extra income, as I was anticipating a move and didn't want anything full time or permanent.
Recruiter (of course) gave me all sorts of rosey stories about how I'd give 'em my schedule and how they'd work around it... yada yada yada... and at a decent rate.

Nope. During the 3rd orientation day, I was told that 'casual' meant "At Our Convenience" and that I'd be on call 24/7.
Fortunately, I wasn't destitute and was able to thumb my nose and walk away. The other guys and gals in the orientation class, though, were probably mostly feeling trapped at this point. When I started with JB in '91, they covered my bus fare to the OKC terminal, and told another guy he'd have to make his own way home if he quit.

Hell... I'd have been stuck back then. They were real fond of including fuel and performance bonuses in their recruiting ads as if they were part of your per-mile pay... then letting you know *after* they had you in their web that you'd actually be making 4 or 5 cents less than you'd thought. Most of the fuel bonus money went to guys running dedicated lightweight loads.

Yes, and this has been the whole process as you mentioned, this is what I am enduring right now. Problem is, Tennessee wants me to send in my hardcopy of said license, and THEN I have to WAIT for the states attorney general to approve my cdl priveledges being "cancelled" so I CAN take the test. I am in limbo where ever I turn.

I have already talked to two different lawyers on this matter, and contacting another one today. I wont even dispute what you said about the Military, because yes in my case it was a mistake.....a big one...not entirely because I did serve, but because of the advice I received while I was in, and upon taking said advice, (which was bad) has had repercussions for me to this day. But thats another story.............

And honestly I agree with you about the World War II statement...Because to this day I have no clue what I fought for....
