I'm thinking of hiring an attorney to start a class action lawsuit regarding the Rand Mcnally tnd 80

  1. Find a young up and coming lawyer and pitch the idea to him.

Your first mistake was buying a 500$ gps the second was exchanging for another.

I will join the lawsuit. There is no reason for a company to market garbage like this.

    Ya know.

It only took me 2 weeks to figure they aren't worth it. And I traded for pcmiler.

    And never looked back.

Had a RM freeze up on me headed west on the L.I.E., almost to the City. I had never been there. I was able to reach down with one hand, grab a spare Garmin, boot it up and navigate off the Island. Close call

Here’s a little trick that I use. When I first go to plan my route I just use straight up Google Maps. I know it’s not a trucking app but what I do from there is pull up Trucker Path app and put in the coordinates. If the coordinates match the Google map and I can see several truck stops along the way or parking areas that are reviewed by past truck drivers, then I know it’s trucker friendly. There wouldn’t be people stopping in these places driving tractor trailers if it wasn’t trucks allowed. Works EVERYTIME. No no need to buy inexpensive truckers GPS or pay for a truckers GPS app

If a portion of the route, usually back country roads and such has no reviewed trucking places to stop, then I start looking for a workaround and it usually only takes a minute or two to find one.

I had a RM, 7-something. I don’t remember exactly. It would freeze up, then go black. Sent it in twice, got it back it did the same thing after awhile. Finally, I throw’d it away, and bought a Garmin. Been over 3 years now, no issues whatsoever. I wouldn’t take a RM if you gave it to me.

I can't comment any further regarding any lawsuits or dissatisfaction with RM products. I've had the TND 540 for a couple years now with no issues.
