The hazmat is an extra cent per mile on all miles a nickel when hauling hazmat. when you get to certain markets it makes loading you easier most hazmat loads are direct customer loads.
Jarhed1964 and D LOOK Thank this. -
Been driving for 3 years, with 2 years reefer, and 1 year dry van, and just never thought about getting it in the past. I thought if I ever got my hazmat, it would be if I wanted to haul fuel or oil. Thank you.

Thank you for your reply.

We don’t pull them often but it pays to have it. More often than not my reload out of North Carolina is hazmat. Tomorrow it will be a broker load from high point nc to the twin cities.
We also have one that goes from pa out west to Yakima that I’ve pulled a few times. That extra money adds up. And like it was mentioned gives dispatch options to get you out of bad areas.
I probably pull one hazmat load a month.Jarhed1964, D LOOK and Winnyf1 Thank this. -
As we move into tough times, I strongly suggest being fully endorsed. Hazmat is the only hard test depending on your knowledge and this make you more employable and increases what you can haul.
