I made two big mistakes leaving the house.
1) Didn't take the chains off Casper.

l'm not sure about 4x8 steel but with lumber, 5' max between straps. l would put one chain snug across the front of each bundle in case you have to slam on the brakes. Just imagine a bundle of 4x8 sheets cutting your tractor in two pieces, upper and lower.
