I had a couple of interesting observations today (for me anyway).

I got empty near Tacoma then dead-headed to the Albany OR area (about 235 miles) to load grass seed going to WI.

When I checked in I gave the guy the pu# and he asked if I was with ???? trucking company. I said no I'm with FCC.

He looked out the window and then said (paraphrasing) it's rare to see an actual FCC truck pick up these loads. These are FCC loads but a different carrier usually hauls them.

The two things I got out of this is, one, is that FCC's capacity is likely far beyond their 400+ trucks and two, this is another sign that things are slowing down. Between my DH miles and picking up a load that FCC usually contracts out to another carrier.

I'm still getting good miles (well North of 3000) but it seems obvious to me that they're having to get creative to keep everyone moving.

This load I just picked up I can easily get there the day before I'm scheduled to.

The next day is fine with me because it heals my clock. I prefer to run recaps vs taking 34's.

FCC does have a brokerage department, they do broker out some loads that we can’t cover or are less desirable.

Most Menards loads have time built in. I live in Idaho, and those loads are great for a quick reset on the way through. The deadhead miles are dependent on the market. Most Northwest loads involve a couple hundred.

Well you still haven't because that's the no tax side so you pay the tax and be around 1.20 a gallon that's why I use the phone to get the price off there site. Never look at the third line because we pay the tax just cash price minus the discount.

Those are usually quick loading. I’ve gone in a day early and they’ve loaded me.
