I leased on with a guy for a few months and then decided it wasn’t a good fit. In my lease agreement it states I’m responsible for vehicle license fees. Now after saying that, it’s a company plate and I was paying $25 a week for it. Now since I ha e to return it along with the cab card per the lease agreement do I still have to pay him he full amount for the plate since he can transfer it to another truck?

    it depends on your contract.

Buy your own plate, it is cheap.

Think it is $16-1800 a year in Massachusetts. Hate hearing people not getting their own plate. Answer your question is he can probably hold escrow to it gets a new owner should be in the contract. If it says nothing then check whatever you signed for the plate. Another reason to always get your own plate. This way you can drive legally if you quite/fired ect. Then try to nail insurance on your own. Lastly that great fuel card they offer. Give it back. Get a NASTC card or equivalent. These dam companies make dough when you use their fuel card. Good luck.

What’s your contract say? Any opinion here doesn’t matter without knowing what your contract says.

Just says I’m responsible for truck licenses fees, but I didn’t sign any paperwork for the plate. He didn’t run an escrow accounts for the drivers.

I’d say no your not responsible then. He will just transfer it to the next owner op that he brings on.

Was it $25 a week 52 weeks a year, or until a set amount was paid off?
