Maybe ive got it backward. Ive only owned old SS's. Jumped in my buddies cat 2xx skidloader and just about crashed it into the trailer. Im pretty sure i remember right stick being carriage and left being loader but maybe wrong.

You probably figured out by now If the ex was running backward your house was facing wrong way. Bucket to blade will be normal. Unless you mean the pattern was wrong. These days i guess they all got pattern changer as mentioned. Good job on no claims today! Nuther notch in your night stick.

General rule of thumb: on tracked machines, the final drives (they have the sprockets mounted to them) go to the rear.

 

Older cat excavators had the little flip lever under the trap door in the floor to change them. If ya didnt know bout it...in bout 1 second ya did !!
