No Surprise to me, maybe I'm just cynical.

Once they figure out how to make money from it, they will be all over it like a cheap suit.

 

Maybe they’re silent because they actually understand that they can’t regulate shippers and receivers and can’t regulate brokers to only hold a certain percentage?

 

I would have chosen a different day so as not to be identified as a commie.

 

Perhaps if the Officials had to run their office like a truck, for a month or so, they would have a better understanding.
Drive into the office and be held at the entrance gate for several hours as their parking spot was not available.
Sitting at your desk, you have to take a 30 minute break, before 8 hours are up.
After being at work for 11 hours, you have to spend 10 hours in the coat closet, before you can go back to your desk.
Your "Boss" keeps calling while you are in the closet wanting to know where you are and when will you be going back to your desk.
When you leave the office, the attendant at the gate says it will be a couple of hours while they try to find your parking lot ticket before you can leave.
When you get home, your "Boss" keeps calling you wanting to know when you will be back at your desk.
And the line for the shower at home is 3 hours long.

 

If they fall asleep at their desk they get pushed over and ticketed

 

And don’t forget they get no pay for anytime they are away from their desk because the office elog will automatically go to off duty when the butt leaves the seat.

 

The article calls the heads of the DOT leaders. They aren't leaders. Leaders show themselves on the front lines and set an example.

These DOT clowns are bureaucratic pencil pushers with ZERO trucking experience.

 

Its simple, don't like the rate, don't take the freight.

 

Not when the bills are piling up. Not everyone has that luxury. <.<
