This is apples and oranges. The only way to make that comparison close to a broker in trucking would be for the broker to buy your house, pay you, and then move on and try to sell it.

I’m in the middle of this right now. The house was completely gutted. It’s going to be completely new except for the Shell by June 1. I don’t care if the guy paid $10 for it, I know what I’m paying for it and it will be move in ready.

If I value it at 400 and someone else sells it for 800: that means they know the market and I don’t. It doesn’t make me entitled to any more money if I agreed on 400 because clearly that shows that I have no business in the business of selling houses.
if I had no clue how to value my assets and had to depend on someone else to; it would be pretty likely that my value would be diminished, purely by virtue of being so bad at what I do that I don’t know what I’m worth.

If someone sold what I could do for double what I charge, I’d take what I wanted in the first place, be happy about it and the next go around I would learn from the situation’s outcome and raise my rates.

Honesrly. If anyone should be upset about what the broker is or isn't making on the load. It should be the shipper. After all he's the one paying for the goids to be moved.

The complaints are like a sub-contractor to a contractor on building a home. He's going to say hey sub I'll pay you x to do the job. What the contractor is getting paid to build the home isn't relavent. Just is the wage fair to the sub or too low.

    That's a good explanation but...
In real estate the sale is transparent to the party's of the buyer and seller.

Also if it wasn't that way, as in the freight brokage business, the buyer of the house(the truck driver) might be upset that he could have got the house at half price, just as freight is half priced now but still unclear as to what the shippers are paying.
